Doberman Rescue of the Triad was created to find homes for abandoned, abused, neglected and owner-surrendered Doberman Pinschers. Interested in adopting one of these truly loyal companions? Consider Doberman Rescue of the Triad. Chances are we have the best match and the right Dobe for you!
Mission Statement:
To provide the best care and love for ALL unwanted Dobermans regardless of age or health concerns. To eliminate the suffering of Dobermans who have been victims of neglect and/or abuse. To rehabilitate and re-place these Dobermans in permanent loving homes. To SPAY/NEUTER all Dobermans introduced into Rescue.
Adoption Policy: All potential adopters must fill out an application. This is provided so Doberman Rescue can thoroughly screen all new owners. This ensures that all dogs will go to acceptable homes. Animals must be kept current on vaccines and heartworm prevention. They must not be chained or tied to trees, fences etc. They must be house dogs and not exclusive yard dogs. All owners must keep Doberman Rescue current on phone and address information. Animals must be returned to Doberman Rescue should the new owner be unable to keep them under the specified conditions.
Adoption Commitment: Our sincere hope is that all Dobermans who enter our program are ultimately welcomed into a new home, one that lasts a lifetime. In that context, we strongly recommend that you consider the following:
Adopting a rescue dog is a lifetime commitment. Each Dobe has his/her own story, history, and, sometimes, unique issues. Some have come from loving homes where dire circumstances have forced owners without viable options to give up their beloved pets to DRT. Many have been surrendered at shelters, picked up by animal control roaming the streets, victimized by the horrors of neglect, and/or abuse. DRT makes every effort to match each Dobe with a compatible “forever home”, but it only works if your new companion adjusts to your home and family. To help ensure a successful and pleasant transition, we fully engage with our applicants and adopters to answer questions before, during, and after each adoption.
Please remember that as an adopter you should be prepared to deal with an adjustment period and a willingness to make that lifetime commitment. If you have reservations, are hesitant to keep your dog during good times and bad, during household moves, and/or family changes, please reconsider your desire to adopt.
Veterinarian Affiliation: All animals are seen by a licensed veterinarian immediately after entry into the program. They are given all initial vaccinations, tested for heartworms and intestinal parasites. All adult dogs are spayed or neutered.
Foster Home Program: We are always in the need for foster homes. Many times we are overwhelmed, and receive more dogs than we have suitable space for. Each foster home that we have greatly increases our ability to help these poor creatures. Initial food and all medical care is provided by Doberman Rescue. The ingredient that you add is LOVE!
