This wonderfully formed and handsome Doberboy came to us from a loving home where circumstances have changed, resulting in their need to find a new home for him. Here’s how his former mom describes things: “My mother-in-law passed away a year after we got Rasmus. We now have had to dedicate an unlimited amount of time to my father-in-law’s needs and care, who is 82 and lives alone. I have also had health issues that have come on after we got Rip. Due to these factors, we are not able to provide him with the time and energy he deserves. We live in a rural area on 10 acres. He loves to be outside, run, play with his toys, and chase birds and squirrels. He is loving, clingy, friendly, and follows us around the house. He is an inside dog, but loves outside as well. If we have to leave and weather is permitting he stays in a 10x10 kennel until we return. If we are outside he is off leash enjoying the property.”
Clearly this fellow came from a happy, loving home. It’s always especially sad to me when a family who are good “parents” and long to keep their dog, have to surrender it due to circumstances beyond their control. I laud them for making the responsible decision under the circumstances, and I have no doubt he’ll be in a new, loving home very shortly.
Carol adds this observation: “I can tell you he is ‘quite the package’ -- listens well, easy on the eyes, wants to please - a big, strong guy, but does obey ‘easy when on a lead,’ and I can walk him, though gingerly, to the exercise fields on the ice.”
What are you waiting for? This take-your-breath-away fellow isn’t going to be with us for long. You know the sequence: apply, acceptance, appointment, arrive, acquaint, away. Now git ‘er done.
