One would never guess from looking at this beautiful young Dobergirl that she had anything but a happy past. Unfortunately, looks can be deceiving. She was dumped outside an office, and it was seen on camera. Here’s how her rescue angel describes it: “She was let out of a car where I work, and the people drove off and left her. We could see it on our CCTV system. I took her home, but I can’t keep her. I don’t know her name or how she is around other animals. All she wants to do is follow me around.” Not surprising, since this dear person rescued her.
Sadly, she does have heartworm, so that costly and risky treatment is required. We especially appreciate those of our readers and adopters who are able to donate a bit extra toward the high cost of heartworm treatments, and we thank you in advance for helping save her life.
Observations from our volunteers: “This girl seems to have a fairly laid-back personality. During my time in the corral with her, she alternately sniffed around the perimeter and came over to me for some attention. Eventually, she decided that she’d explored enough and stayed right with me. She shared a few gentle kisses and sat down in front of me so I could rub her ears. I love her coloring. She has that bright deep rust color that stands out on her black coat.”
Carol adds that she is “good with other dogs and cats. A little work on leash is needed, but she is receptive to guidance and training. Nice Dobe; very pretty.”
By all accounts, this is a gentle, inquisitive, playful Dober that will make a loving, Velcro companion - quietly receptive, and engaged. If she seems as though she’s a match for your family, follow the usual sequence: apply, approval, appointment, arrive, acquaint, away. |
