This sturdy, handsome Doberteen is keenly intelligent and “all in” with interest and engagement. He came to us from a home with teeny dogs. They could run loose, but he had to stay in an exercise pen most of the time. As a result, in his excitement to see folks and get attention. this burgeoning babe of emerging excellence had no sufficient, consistent outlet for his boundless brio, and he actually took to bouncing in his small space to release some of the excess energy every young Dober has. How happy he has been to be with us for now, where he is regularly walked and has play time and human interaction! He even enjoyed his bath. Apparently, there was not even a yard for him at his former home. Carol says, "When he came to us the first day, I let him out in the field and he ran and ran. I‘m sure it felt good." Not surprisingly, he‘s a very affectionate and appreciative fellow, too. He‘s never had it so good!
Observations from our volunteers: “Pavarotti is a young, energetic, playful boy, ready to be trained for your lifestyle. He knows how to sit on command. He‘s learning to loose- leash walk. He loves to run and play with the Jolly Ball. Once he gets that initial burst of energy out, he‘ll come when called and loves being petted and rubbed; he‘ll even reward you with a few kisses. He definitely has the Doberman lean down pat once he puts his trust in you. He‘s still a youngster and hasn‘t had much training, but he’s quick to learn. He figured out what I wanted him to do on our first meeting. With time, some patience, and good consistent training, this guy could be an ambassador for the breed. He‘s handsome, dynamic, and quick to learn.”
“Pavarotti is an absolute sweetheart full of puppy energy, who wants to play and go on walks. He knows to sit and "off" on command, which is good because he jumps up for joy at seeing you. On walks he does pull initially, but it eases with some energy spend and can be corrected with a daily routine. He gives the most loving eye contact, enjoys being petted, and does a full Dobie lean. Coming from a house without a yard, he will need room to run and roam. From my time with him, I can see that he’s an awesome companion.”
Here’s the opportunity for a fortunate family to take him home and guide him through the remainder of his adolescence with love, exercise, and training as he matures into his full Dober potential. If you think your family may be a match, make an appointment to meet him after your application is approved, and come see for yourself what a winner he is. I’m confident you’ll make music together for many years to come, if you do.
