This hunka hunka is just full of good will and happiness. His playful demeanor suggests a younger and smaller dog, but he seems to have no idea how large or chronologically experienced he is, and he’s a total joy to be around and interact with. He came to us from a home where he lived inside and was loose in the home (we like that), but he may not have had the amount of exercise that would best suit a fellow of his size and interactive disposition. His family surrendered him because they are moving out of the country and cannot take him with them. Now he is with us as he awaits his new home, and he is truly a joy to have around.
He’s easygoing, engaged, and playful. He totally loves interacting with humans. Carol says he’s “a big teddy bear” and that he is unsurprisingly “very strong on leash.” It’s safe to say he has very little experience at leash walking. That should come right along with consistent, patient guidance.
Apparently, one of his management techniques in his former home was to give him a food-filled toy to keep him occupied. Carols says “He‘s been eating a lot of peanut butter in his KONG toy and should probably lose some weight.” The good news is, he also loves bananas, fruits, and vegetables! (Sounds like my hundred-pound baby; he’ll go out under our apple trees and pick up drops to eat - thinks he’s found treasure lying on the ground!) Being part of a family where he gets outside and plays or perhaps is taken on regular walks will certainly tone him up accordingly.
It’s in a Doberman’s nature to love his humans, but this fellow may have an extra measure of devotion. He just loves human interaction and is at his happiest when there’s someone to be with him.
If you think your home and heart is large enough for this bundle of burning love, make an appointment once your application is approved and come with your larger vehicle; you’ll need the room for taking him home! |
