This beautiful, petite, Dobergirl came to us from a loving, multi-dog home. Unfortunately, and as sometimes happens, jealousy began to develop between her and the older, longer-resident Dobergirl in the house. They had been housemates for about a year, but in the past few weeks their play had begun to devolve into fighting as the older one’s jealousy took over, and the younger one, puzzled at the attitude from her house mate, was nevertheless going to defend herself.
The owners were an older couple, and this was more than they could deal with, so they made the decision to surrender the younger dog for placement in a home where canine jealousy would not be a problem.
Now she is with us, and a lovely young lass she is. Her former mom says that she knows to stop, come, lie down, and her toy on command. Her mom also says that “she is very obedient, loves to play fetch, sleeps on sofa, and loves to have a small pillow or large toy for her mouth as a pacifier. She also loves to chew Nylabones and a large chew rope.”
Observations from our volunteers:
"Young Dobes just don‘t get much cuter than this gal! She gets the zoomies when she plays, and it‘s a way for her to get comfortable with meeting new people. She just runs off that nervous energy and play bows until she gets the confidence to let you pet her. She has a super sweet personality, and she just wants to play and find a way to get closer to your heart. While she has energy, she is manageable and wants to be a pleaser. She‘s a great combination of energy, personality and beauty!"
From everything we’ve seen and heard, this is an excellent dog with no issues who simply needs a loving, no-jealousy home to live out her many years ahead as a loving and playful companion. If you think your home may be a match, make an appointment once your application is approved, and come prepared to take her home with you!
