Good with other dogs in the short term.  Will play and interactive with other dogs, but will show jealousy in the home around her human.
Ignored the cat when cat tested.
Good with older children only.

This pretty little Dobergirl is full of interest, goodwill, and energy.  She may be a bit of an airhead still, but age and training will help her settle in to being a proper adult in the months ahead.

She came to us from a good home with other dogs, where she had started being jealously overprotective of her human against the other dogs in the family.  It seems she got along fine with and played with the other dogs when her human wasn’t nearby, but once her mom stepped into the picture, she seemed to think she had the only legitimate claim and aggressively pushed the other dogs away.  At this point, it seems clear she’ll do best in a home with no other dogs.

She has had a start at training and knows “Heel” and “Place.”  And she knows “Rest” in place of “Down.”  She loves to play fetch and especially enjoys rope and squeaky toys.  And she‘s very treat motivated.

Her former mom had this to say about her:

“She’s a great Doberman companion.  She loves to lie on the couch with me and watch TV, but will also go on long walks and still has enough energy to play and keep up.  She has a great balance of both.  The reason I have to give her up is that she has gotten more aggressive with my other dogs, and with it just being me it’s getting more difficult to keep them separate.  I am so unbelievably upset about this decision that I have to make.  She’s very good with people, and with other dogs unless they‘re around me.”

Volunteer comments:
“Markarova is another super cutie at DRT!  It took her a half second to get comfortable with me, and in the blink of an eye, she rolled onto her back for a belly rub! She is super easy to walk on leash and didn‘t even change her demeanor when a deer was rustling in woods near us.  She also interacted well with a large male Dober when introduced in one of the large fields. She has a great temperament and is just a really nice dog!”

Maybe it’s immaturity, maybe it’s a form of insecurity, but for one reason or another, she doesn’t want other dogs around her human.  Thankfully, that problem is easily solved with a new, one-dog home.  If you think yours may be a good match for her, make an appointment to meet her once your application is approved, and come spend a bit of time getting to know her.  I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you do.
