Sandeman is a handsome, underweight young Dober who appeared a few days ago at DRT, as if by magic.
He’s a quiet-yet-interested fellow, uncertain as of yet regarding what the changes in his life mean and what is expected of him at this point. But he’s clearly a good fellow who will be an excellent companion once he is confident in his new setting. He’s gentle and easygoing, and it seems there’s a fully-engaged, playful, and eager fellow lying just below the surface, watching and waiting for a proper, forever home and family.
Volunteer observations: “This guy jumped up on the gate when I first saw him. I talked to him, and he seemed happy to meet a new friend. Later on, when I took him to the corral, he was eager to be close to me. In typical Dobe fashion, he buried his head in my lap as I rubbed his head. It’s pretty evident he could use another 15 pounds on his slender frame, and if he’s at DRT very long, Carol will take care of that!”
And this observation comes from a potential adopter who met him while she was here: “Sandeman, while a bit apprehensive at first, it only took only a few minutes to warm up to us and let his guard down. Once he did, he was all about the pets and scratches and has his Doberman lean down pat! He’s a silly boy who definitely has a playful side under there, that I’m sure will come out even more as he settles into the good life. He interacted well with our small dog, so I think he would do well in a home with or without a canine friend.”
This is a prime young Doberboy, just waiting for a loving home where he can blossom and mature into his full potential. If you think yours may be the one, make an appointment to meet him once your application is approved, and come by to meet him. There’s nothing but good waiting for you if you do. |
