Interested in the cat.  Very jubilant around cat and wants to play.  Probably would chase the cat.
Good with older children.

This energetic, playful Doberpup came to us from a loving home where his well-intended humans realized after the fact that puppies are a lot to handle!

Here’s how his former mom describes things: “Croft is a very, very sweet dog with a playful and happy disposition.  He is very large and very high energy.  Unfortunately, my husband is a 100% disabled, retired Marine Corps veteran, and I am a teacher. He has always dreamed of having a Doberman, but we honestly were naive to Apollo‘s needs. We have come to realize that he needs more attention than we are able to give him, due to my husband‘s disabilities and my schedule. We recognize that he cannot have the quality of life he deserves with us and don‘t want to re-home him to just anyone.  He’s a wonderful dog that deserves a loving home with people who can give him everything he needs. We are confident that with your resources, he will find the perfect home.  He’s verey high energy, loves to run, and loves to play with rope Kongs.”

And Carol adds this: “Croft is willing to please and truly loves to go on walks around the property.  He needs some weight on, and that‘s the easy part!”

Observations from our volunteers:
“Croft is young and is full of youthful exuberance, so he needs someone with a fairly active lifestyle who is willing to share with him.  He is wonderfully friendly and cute, just mostly untrained at this point.  He does well on a leash, so someone has spent some time with him.  And with his intelligence, I have no doubt he’ll come along pretty quickly.  He has a great spirit and personality that make him very lovable, and he absolutely wants to be your best friend.”

“Ah, the exuberance of youth!  Croft is a perfect example of an energetic teenager. He has a really sweet disposition, but could use some guidance to soften and redirect that exuberance.  He’s very smart and will no doubt come along very well with time and proper guidance.”

There you have it - excellent “raw material” just waiting for a proper, loving home and family that will guide him into being the outstanding, mature Doberman he will become in the months ahead.  If you think your family is a match, then apply, appointment, visit, take home.  Don’t be slow; he’s ready for a new life with you!
