This sweet, gentle, senior Dober has had her life turned upside down recently with the death of her beloved owner. Caring friends took her in to foster her until a home could be found, but they are seniors too and were not able to keep up with her care and needs. As a result, she earnestly needs a loving home once again.
The folks who fostered her shared the following comments: “Redemption is a good dog and loves to be with people. She walks well on a leash, but she gets excited and wants to play when seeing another animal. We would keep her, but I travel frequently, and it is too much on my husband, who is partially handicapped. She sits and comes on command, and she won’t push through a partially open door, choosing to wait politely until I open it wider for her.”
Observations from our volunteers: “Redemption is just a SUPER SWEET (yes..all caps!) Doberlady! She’s never met a stranger and is just looking for a new human BFF after losing her original owner. She’s calm and mature, and she doesn‘t get worked up when other Dobes are barking or running the fence line. Her behavior is easy to manage. She is even good on a leash, as she doesn‘t pull and seems to enjoy walking rather than sniffing. She’s a good girl that will make a good home even better!”
"This is a pretty laid-back girl. I sat with her in her run and she was happy to lay her head on my leg as I was petting her. Every once in a while, she would look up at me as if to say “Keep going: I’m enjoying this.” When I finally had to leave to do chores, she let out a few low moans as if she missed me already!"
"From Cyndi‘s corner: I‘ve been working with DRT training and helping Carol for several months. This is the first time I teared up. Redemption is such a good girl. Quiet, walks nicely on a leash, and longing for a little attention and love. You can tell she‘s a little lost, but who wouldn‘t be after losing her Dad. She‘s very willing to go and be one-on-one, and with those beautiful brown eyes she let‘s you know she appreciates and longs for that one-on-one attention. It‘s clear to me that she‘ll return such love and attention many times over."
And this came from a friend of Redemption’s former mom: “Redemption was a pampered Boss Queen that is used to schedules and way too many treats! She’s also my dogs best friend. He was a rescue, and she helped to teach him manners as a puppy. It really helped me out, and they were friends for three years.” The short of it is, this sweet, senior Dobergirl is as gentle and loving a companion as you could ever want. Sure, she’s overweight (easily-improved with diet and exercise); but really, this tenderhearted girl just wants to be loved. Application, approval, appointment, show up, take home. Give this lovable and loving lady a life once again; she deserves it, and you’ll be blessed in the process. |
