Archee and Veronika came to us from a shelter with the help of a rescue angel (may their tribe increase). While we know nothing of their past, it’s readily apparent that despite being a bit underweight, they are wonderfully attractive Doberteens who are full of goodwill and playfulness.
Given a Dober’s natural temperament, and being young yet, they’re still somewhat at the discovery stage along the road to maturity as they observe and learn from their surroundings and interactions.
They absolutely love attention and being made of, and they interact very easily and naturally with each other, as well. They are relaxed, yet interested, and while they certainly love to have attention lavished on them, they have no trouble entertaining themselves if no one is available to connect with them at the moment.
Observations from our volunteers: “Veronika and Archee are the kissing bandits. These rascals are so friendly when you venture into their run to visit with them. As you down, they just smother you with kisses. They just put a smile on your face when you spend time with them! Despite their youth, they are pretty calm and well-mannered. They entertain themselves like Frick and Frack, which should make adopting a pair a little easier to manage. They both want attention, but they don‘t fight over who is getting it. Both are super cute, but once they get some good food in them to help their coats and gain some weight, they will be stunners!”
“Sometimes I wonder how or where Carol comes up with name for the dogs that come to DRT, but boy she hit it out of the park with these two. If you are of a certain age (mature) and you were a fan of the Archie and Veronica comic books, you’ll know what I mean when you meet these two. During the time I spent with them on the patio, you could tell these two have a deep bond and, as was normal in the comics, this Archee is always coming up with ways to get Veronika’s attention. You can tell she not only tolerates, but secretly enjoys his boyish charms.”
From all indications, these Doberteens are uncomplicated, easygoing, and ready for a forever home, either individually or better yet, as a pair - your choice.
If your heart and home are a match for one or both, make an appointment to meet them after your application is approved, and come spend some time observing and interacting with them. You may arrive intending to take only one, but you’ll have a hard time leaving the other behind, if you do! |
