This beautiful young Doberpup is bright, eager, interested, and engaged. She was turned in because she didn‘t get along with the female pit bull already living in the home. That having been said, one of our volunteers took her home to foster since there’s no room at Elijah‘s House at the moment, and she reports that this dog is playing happily with her two-year old male Doberman. Some dogs just don’t mix, and apparently that was so in her former home.
Prior to arriving at that home, she had been left in a dog lot with a bag of food and some water when her owners moved out. Two weeks later the landlord found here there, abandoned. No words. This family took her in but the resident dog didn’t accept her, so she has now come to Elijah’s House as she awaits a new, forever home.
She’s young and resilient, and she’s moved on from the past and is living happily in the moment - such is the adaptability of a pup.
Observations from our volunteers: “The thing I immediately noticed when I entered Zaya’s field for the first time was that she is a gorgeous Doberman - beautiful head, body, and coat. But the second thing I noticed is my favorite thing about her. I had been told she might jump on me out of enthusiasm, and she did. But it took only a couple of minor, verbal corrections before she realized that jumping on me was not acceptable, and she stopped. She’s not only beautiful, she’s smart and responsive. My kind of Dobe!”
This Doberpup seems to be a gem that is just awaiting proper finishing in a loving and nurturing home. If you think yours may be the one, apply, get accepted, schedule a meet, take her home!
