What a perfectly lovely young Dobergirl this - a total calendar dog! She came to us from a shelter, where she was getting stressed, and they asked us to take her into our program, which we happily did.
Carol describers her as a “darling Dobe with a lot of personality. She is eager to interact and play with the other young Dobes at Elijah‘s House, and one very cute, endearing gesture she has is that ‘Doberman Grin’ -- hers is a big, wide, full-mouth, toothy grin. She‘s hysterical!”
She’s wonderfully formed, has a glossy, full coat; and an alert and intelligent look. She’s a keeper, for sure, despite whatever happened to result in her being in a shelter. We’re just glad she’s with us for a short time as she awaits a new, forever home.
Observations from our volunteers: “Zacara is just as cute as they come when it comes to lady Dobes. The pictures don‘t lie! She will even give you a full smile when she is happy and excited. She was a little timid at my introduction but began warming up to me as she got more comfortable with my presence. Everything about her suggests she is super sweet and affectionate, and she has already started stealing the hearts of our volunteers!”
“I met Zacara in the corral when Carol brought her in for us to get acquainted, and it didn’t take long for her to come over to meet me. I found that she really likes treats, and that helped. After introductions Carol left us together, and she alternated between checking the perimeter and coming up behind me, allowing me to touch her. When I got more treats, she came and sat down in front of me, and I seemed to be her new best friend. She’s a gentle girl and a loving companion as she becomes confident with her surroundings and humans.”
“I was told that Zacara was skittish and that I might need help getting her from the exercise field. Boy, was I surprised when she was all wiggles and jumping on the gate to meet me! I guess she’s a great judge of character…LOL. Anyway, I went into the meadow, and she seemed perfectly happy to be around me. It didn’t hurt that I came with a pocket full of treats. Seriously, she was very friendly and would come up to me as I was sitting on a bench and give me gentle kisses. She also came when I called to her. When I went back to the field later to take her inside (no treats this time), she was happy to see me and let me put the slip lead over her head without any reservation. She impressed me very favorably.”
This one seems like an easy choice with no complications - a gentle Dobergirl just waiting for a loving, nurturing home. If you think yours may be the one, apply, receive approval, meet, decide. I don’t see you going home without her! |
