This pretty young Dobergirl with the dark, glossy coat came to us from a shelter after her human had become homeless and could keep her no longer. Out of that sadness, she now awaits a new home with a family she can love and be a companion to going forward.
She’s a happy-go-lucky Doberman that hasn‘t met a stranger. She loves affection and attention, and that velvety coat is an added bonus.
Comments from our volunteers: “Sambuca the sweetheart. She treated me as though I was her new best friend when I visited with her the first time. She longs for affection, but she also gives it back twofold. When I entered her area, she was super excited to see me. I decided to lie down on the ground to see what she would do, and she lay down right beside me as if we had been longtime buddies. She’s a great dog with a splendid temperament, and she’s very pretty besides.”
“Every once in a while you meet a truly happy dog. Sambuca defines happiness in spades! The first time I saw her, whole body was wriggling and her tail was wagging at the prospect of me coming over to her to meet her. When we went into the corral, her excitement at having company was heightened, and before long she rolled over and let me rub her belly. Not many dogs will do that within a minute or two of meeting for the first time. Her sweet personality is hard to resist!”
Back in the 50s, the term “wash and wear” came into use as a marketing ploy for clothing and fabrics that forever before had required ironing. It was used to suggest that no additional labor or care was needed - simply wash, and wear. Over the years, the use of the term has expanded, describing anything that is without complication, easygoing, etc. - something that will not unduly overburden life. Our Dobergirl Sambuca truly is a wash-and-wear Dober.
If you think she may be a match for your home, make an appointment to meet her once your application is approved, and come see for yourself what a true gem she is. All she’s missing is a ride home. |
