This pretty little Dobergirl pup hasn’t grown in to her ears yet, but she’s a pretty little, live-wire girl, full of life and happiness warmed over. She came to us from a Doberman family that had lost one Dober and replaced it with this one. But as she grows, the already-resident dog is not accepting her into the pack, so to speak.
Here’s how her former mom describes her personality and circumstances: “She loves tennis balls and the flat, crinkle-paper-stuffed toys. She has free range of our house, and she has taught herself to ‘boop the bells’ on our back door to let me know she has to go potty. Any time I leave the house, she is outside on our fenced-in back acre. She’s a great dog that still needs obedience and manner training, but our adult dog is very aggressive toward her since losing our other Dobe. Now that this puppy is getting older, the aggression seems to be getting worse, so we’ve made the unhappy decision to surrender her so she can be in a home that is safe and peaceful for her.”
Volunteer observations: “I took a break from blowing leaves in the corral in order to meet this new pup. She’s full of character and has the energy that is typical for such a young dog. I couldn’t help but taking a shine to this sweetheart! She was all wiggles and kisses as I sat on a bench. I got her to sit down, and then she rolled over as I rubbed her belly. She was just happy to play, and I really enjoyed our time together.”
“Foncesa is our latest Diva Dobe to arrive at DRT. She is a cute little thing, and I think she knows it! She is a whirlwind of energy that will need someone with an active lifestyle to keep up. She needs some leash training as she literally walked circles around me as I moved forward. She loves to sniff while out for a walk and definitely has a heightened sense of wanting to explore. All the same, she will definitely slow down when affection is being handed out; she loves attention and will give it back. She did well with the couple of male Dobes she was introduced to; however, I think she might be too much for an older dog at this point.”
This high-energy puppy is ready for a loving home witha family that will see to her proper training and finishing as she matures into adulthood over the next year and a half or so. If you think your home is a match, make an appointment to meet her once your application is approved, and come spend a bit of time interacting with her. Then tuck her under an arm and take her home!
