This nearly 90lb. pup is a beauty and a joy. She came to us from a home where the husband’s job change resulted in his having to travel most weeks, and his good wife was not able to care for the dogs and the kids, both. Thankfully, she’s with us now as she awaits a new home, and it’s a joy having her here in the meantime. Carol calls her a “really nice Dobe,” and there’s nothing in our experience with her to contradict that straightforward summation.
You can see from her pictures the great eye contact, open-soul face, keen interest and engagement, and active, ready-to -go presence. She also knows to sit, stay, and down on command. Everything about this Dober says “Good companion for life.”
Observations from our volunteers: “Balblair is just a sneaky-good-looking Dobe. I didn‘t realize just how pretty she is until I got up close and personal with her. She is friendly and laid back, very manageable. It doesn‘t take any time to earn her trust and find yourself getting kisses from her. She can be a true companion and a Dobe that you will want to take with you wherever you go. She is so nice to be around, she might even make you feel guilty for the times she just can‘t tag along. Balblair is "plug and play" - ready to be a great pet!”
“What an athletic sweetheart! I took her to the driveway field to get acquainted, and she would run around to explore, then run back to me with a big smile on her face. While she was exploring, I could call to her and she would also come right back to me. After a while we started to play with a Jolly Ball, and she loved that. She’d retrieve the ball after I threw it and initially look like she was going to bring it back to me. Then she’d playfully pass by me and stop about 10-15 feet away, waiting for me to get the ball and throw it again. We played this game until my arm gave out.”
This girl is a beauty, inside and out. If you think she may be a fit for your family, make an appointment to meet her once your application is approved, and come get to know her a bit. She’s going home soon with some fortunate family.
