This handsome Doberboy is a perfect example of our favorite breed. He was with his mom since he was a pup, but life became unpredictable and unsafe for her, her children, and her dog, so she had to flee her home and surrender her beloved canine companion as she tries to start a new life.
When Carol sent me a couple head shots of him before he had arrived at Elijah’s House, I commented that he had a great face. She replied, “Magnificent is the only adjective I can use at the moment. He took my breath away when I met him.” That’s some high praise from someone who has taken in thousands of Dobermans over the years.
And his personality matches his physical beauty - intelligent, alert, engaged, attentive, and eager for whatever his human is doing, he’s really as outstanding as they come. But then, you probably could tell that just from looking at his pictures.
Volunteer observations: “Aberlour is the perfect Dobe. He has a great personality to go along with his good looks. He gives kisses quickly and is happily excited when you get down on his level. He loves to receive attention and will try and climb into your lap if you let him. This is the complete Dober package.”
“This is a truly beautiful and athletic young boy! His coat is especially shiny and smooth, more so than most Dobes, it seems. He warmed up to me very quickly when I went in to visit him. I took along a Jolly Ball, and we played with it for a while. Then I sat on one of the benches and he came right between my legs looking up at me with that “Rub my ears for a while” look on his face. A genuinely loving companion he is!”
All I can say is, if the profile and pictures impress you, meeting him will be even better. Make an appointment to do so once your application is approved, and come see for yourself what a remarkable Dober he is. I think you’ll find he exceeds your expectations, if you do. |
