This pretty little Doberteen is picture perfect and lovely besides.  She was was found as a stray wandering on a woman‘s property.  I’ll let her describe the circumstances:
“She was found down by the creek by my caretaker on 12/12/2022. She was timid, sweet, and ravenous. She was clearly starved. I brought her home. I took her to a local vet to scan for a chip, and there was none (nor was there a collar or tattoo) For the first day, everything I fed her went right out as diarrhea.  I took her back to the vet on the second day with a stool sample - she was heartworm negative but riddled with tape and whip worm. She was given an antibiotic for intestinal infection, a dewormer, and a probiotic to be given daily. I switched her to a chicken/rice diet, and after a couple days she got better. I gradually added puppy food. I pointed out some sort of circle sores on her skin and ears, but the vet was unconcerned and thought it was probably related to malnutrition. After the first 5 days her energy level and her attitude have improved dramatically. She plays with toys now, she‘ll bound about when outside, and she is much more self-confident and less timid. She was at first very scared of the dark, but now happily goes with me out to the barn at 9 pm to tuck in the horses. She is truly a wonderful dog that I wish I could keep. She is so very sweet and loving.  She also seems very smart. She learned her name in one week. When I say no, she quickly stops and does not try to do it anymore. And she comes when called. But I haven‘t tried sit, down and heel."

Clearly this dear Rescue Angel went above and beyond in getting Morangi on the track to proper weight and full health.  With us so far, she‘s a little tentative around new folks (so typical), but warms up quickly. She‘s friendly with the cat and the other Dobers.  She’s quiet and reserved at the moment, but she is a young dog and she’ll continue to mature well in the weeks and months ahead.  And now that she’s been spayed, she seems to be getting her confidence up and is playing along the fence line with the other dogs.

Volunteer comments:
“This petite young female is a little reserved initially, but quickly warms up. She likes the attention and responded to gentle ear rubs. She made me think of a flower about to bloom, and I’m sure she’ll blossom pretty quickly once she realizes she is in a safe and loving environment. She did the cutest thing right before she had to go back inside the kennel. I was scratching the base of her tail, and she reached around and nibbled on my hand ever so gently as if to say ‘Two can play at this game.’”

This is another uncomplicated, sweet, loving Dober who lacks nothing except the most important thing - a forever, loving home.  If you think yours many be a fit, make an appointment to meet her once your application is approved; just come prepared to fall in love with her and take her home with you if you do.
