GULLIVER and ELECTRA ARE A BONDED PAIR AND WILL NOT BE PLACED SEPARATELY.
What a striking pair of Dobers these two are. You couldn’t ask for more when it comes to good looks, and the sum is greater than the parts. There’s nothing that thrills my Dober-loving heart more than seeing a matched pair like this, and I want to take them home! Alas, I have my quota at this time, but if it were possible, they‘d be gone already!
They came to us from the daughter of a man who had them since pups and had died unexpectedly. The daughter took them initially, but she soon realized she had neither the time nor the means to devote to them. Thankfully, she made the decision to surrender them, and soon they’ll be settled in a new loving home.
The daughter had not taken them to the vet, and the female was especially hesitant to enter the building when we took them. But the male walked in like he owned the place, and she followed behind him! She’s also a bit hesitant when meeting people, but again, when she sees him approach folks, then she will too. They‘re a really cute pair with their cropped ears and different colors, one black, one red. And the funny thing is, she actually bosses him a lot overall. They‘re clean, affectionate, and easy to keep. There’s no inappropriate barking, and they seem to be friendly with other dogs through the fences.
Volunteer observations: “Sometimes you can tell whether a Dober is male or female just by its look, and Gulliver obviously looks like a boy. He’s very nice looking, and his red coat feels like satin, which isn’t always the case with reds. As I visited with him in the small exercise yard, he was more interested in checking out all the smells than in being petted, although he certainly liked that too. He wasn’t needy for attention and seemed to have a high degree of confidence.”
“Electra and Gulliver play well together and will wear themselves out doing just that! Their being a beautiful red and a beautiful black makes for the perfect combination. As you might guess, Electra is the diva, and Gulliver does what she wants. Electra is a little shy initially, so she lets Gulliver approach and then comes over. Once they warm up to you, they are a great pair! They love individual attention. They follow you around and like to show off in front of you as they play with each other. Their happiness together makes you feel good that they can be together, and it’s easy to see why they shouldn‘t be separated!” "Compared to his mate Electra, Gulliver is more outgoing and relaxed. Their personalities really do compliment each other, and they make a great team. While I spent time with him in the corral, he would alternate between coming up to me for some attention and ear rubs and then going sniffing around and checking out what was happening around us."
“These two just love to play together and stay together. They also love give kisses and explore! Electra is sassy and independent, and Gulliver is a goofy little love bug. They truly complement each other very well.”
If two Dobers at once is something that will fit with your family and circumstances, you’ll never do better than with these two. Make an appointment to meet them once your application is approved, and come spend some time watching them play and interacting with them. You’ll see that, in person, they’re even better than their pictures and profile suggest. |
