What a beautiful, teenage Dobergirl this is! Composed; quiet, yet alert and interested; eager and intelligent; desiring nothing more than to be with her human and to be made of.
She came to us from a shelter after her owners surrendered her due to the inability of the dogs in the home to consistently get along with one another. Apparently the other dog was part of the family longer, so this one was surrendered. And with us so far, she does bark at other dogs.
As much as we wish it were otherwise, we’ve seen this numerous times through the years. Some dogs just are not able to work out the order between or among them. If both agree to get along, no problem. But if one won’t accept the other, and if the other refuses to suffer the rejection, spats will recur and sometimes harm can be done. It really is better to change the dynamic by removing one dog in such a case, and that is what has happened here. Unfortunate, but no doubt the best thing in the long run.
Volunteer observations: “This sweetheart just loves people and any attention they’re willing to give her. My time with her today was brief but great fun. When I went into her run for a quick visit, she couldn’t get close enough and loved on me as though she’d known me forever.”
“In my time with Khorol, I observed that she has lots of energy! She loves to jump, run, and play ball. At the same time, she was responsive and teachable and caught on quickly to what was expected of her. She sat and stayed when I told her to, and once she was tired out, she was a total cuddle buddy. When I wasn’t doing something with her, she happily amused herself with a Jolly Ball and had a grand time all on her own. (Alexa, play “Independent Women” by Destiny‘s Child.)” "This beautiful black and rust female has eye catching ears as they stand at attention. They’re fairly long, stand up very well, and tip in ever so slightly at the very tips. She appears to have had some training as she responded to “sit” quickly and remains in that position until given the okay. It was a treat to see how she was playing with a softball, and when she balanced both front feet several times as she was playing with it, I couldn’t help but laugh to see this great big dog balancing on the fairly small ball."
There’s no doubt this sweet girl will make a terrific addition to the family with a home where there is no conflict with another dog. If your home is a match, make an appointment to meet her once your application is approved, and come see for yourself what a lovely and loving young lady she is. |
