It seems to me that Dolyska is just sort of in between.  What I mean is, I get the impression she hasn’t settled in with a family yet.  I don’t see this as any shortcoming on her part.  Rather, it may be the result of the her having been in a puppy-sitting situation for months.  I don’t mean anything negative about any of the humans in this either.  It just seems to me that a combination of circumstances have kept her from feeling as though she had a permanent home and family situation.  I could be wrong, but everything I know about her suggests that to me.

She shows positive qualities as described by her sitter: “She’s very highly active with frequent naps in between (sounds like a puppy to me!).  She plays well with both of the other dogs in our home that are around her size but weigh more.  She loves playing fetch with her humans but doesn‘t like to give the ball back (again, puppy behavior).  With her dog friends she is a big fan of tug of war or play fighting.  Her favorite toy is probably her ball, but a friend is better than a toy to her.”

That’s a description of a total puppy - energetic, playful, mischievous, loving, and eager for a bond with her human more than anything else.

I can’t help but think this pretty little girl is going to settle in (and down some) once she’s in a home she knows to be her permanent one, where she can form lifetime bonds with her humans.

If you’re interested in connecting with this sweet young teenager, if you have the level of love and support to nurture her, if you’re prepared to spend time gently and consistently training her so she matures into the wonderful companion she was born to be, make an appointment to meet her after your application is approved.  Come meet her, watch her play, and see if she is indeed a match for you and your family.

I think this is some raw puppy material that’s going to make a wonderful part of your family as she settles in to a forever home.
