This extra-large, handsome Doberboy isn’t overweight; he’s just big. Don’t let his size fool you though. He has a sweet personality, and he has a quiet, interested, almost sage-like intelligence that looks to see what the plan is and readily meets it.
He’s had formal obedience training and responds in particular to the following commands: “Down,” “Stay,” “Place,” “Wait,” and “Sit.” He will also shake and sit up on his hind legs.
His favorite activities include chewing Nylabones and playing with a ball. And as with the occasional Dober, he’s been known to attempt to eat socks, blankets, and even beds, so be mindful of this possibility. That having been said, he did that in his former home, perhaps due to crating. Here, he has a bed, blankets, and dog mats and does not chew anything, but of course he’s not crated at DRT.
Volunteer comments:
“Varash is a big boy with an even bigger heart! He has lots of energy and, with his long legs, he loves to run as much as possible. A good ear scratch makes him a best friend for life. He has an endearing tendency to stand up, put his paws gently on your shoulders, and tell you secrets and dance with you. He’s sweet and charismatic, and it just seems to flow from the inside of him. He especially loves to play fetch and have his belly rubbed. He’s just a certified lover boy who wants to always be by your side as your constant companion.”
"This is a big red male who loves people. He‘s attentive and inquisitive, and there didn’t seem to be anything that he missed when we were sitting in the corral."
“Varash is a beautiful red Dober who is super friendly. He gets excited with interaction and jumps around you. It’s as if he’s been taught not to jump up on people, so he literally just jumps near you! His personality makes you gravitate towards him. He is definitely fun to be around and seems low maintenance. I love this guy, and while I’ll hate to see him leave, I long to see him go to his forever home!”
Look his pictures over. Note every aspect of his handsome Doberness. Make an appointment to meet him once your application is approved, and come visit with him in person. You won’t go home without him if you do.
