(Since early in the war with Ukraine, DRT has been using Ukrainian city names to support the war effort and the fight for freedom.)
This precious Dobergal was dumped in a trailer park with upcoming storm surge and possible tornadoes coming this way at the time. Rescue angels found her and gave her shelter, then brought her to DRT. (They really are angels, because we offered them money for gas both ways and they refused, saying they only cared that she had a safe place and was out of the elements. God bless them and all who look out for our precious pets.)
I don’t think you will ever find a Dober with a sweeter disposition. It’s obvious that she’s been bred many times over the course of her life to this point, and she came to us with the dreaded and dangerous heart worm. (May all who read this consider donating to the significant additional cost of the treatment to rid her of these life-sucking parasites. You’ll have a direct part in saving a life if you do.)
Despite all she’s been through, she’s still a beauty despite bearing the indications of years of nursing her numerous litters. And the remarkable thing is, she’s as lovely a Dober as you could ever want to know. She’s very sweet, gentle, and happy - really very pretty, and the type of dog whose presence just emanates peace and tranquility. She has a very gentle mouth and is not treat eager/pushy at all. She also has the Doberman lean down pat! She’s very quiet and is immensely enjoying her warm, comfy bed at Elijah‘s House. Her helicopter tail never stops wagging. She‘s sooo happy to have a warm bed and an inside spot to lay her weary body.
Volunteer comments: “I spent about a half hour with Ternova today and enjoyed every minute of it. She really likes her ears rubbed, and the second you stop she’ll look up at you as if to say, “What’s the matter?” She’s got a gentle disposition and has the Doberman lean down pat. I later took her for a walk and She did pretty well on the leash, keeping it taut but never pulling too hard. She loved sniffing the air and kept looking all around. I stopped a couple of times to see what she would do, and each time she kept looking forward and didn’t turn to see what I was doing.”
“Ternova is an absolute sweetheart! She is always happy and playful, and is guaranteed to make you smile. She loves to be petted and to lean on whoever is petting her.”
“If there was ever a definition for the term ‘cuddle bug,’ all you need is a picture of Teranova! That’s what this sweetheart does best. When I met her this past weekend, I sat on a bench in the corral, and she came up between my legs and curled up as best she could while I gently rubbed her ears. If I stopped, she would bend her neck around and look up at me as if to say, ‘We’re not finished yet.’ I was happy to oblige, and she soaked up the attention.”
You really can’t do better for a loving Dober companion than Ternova, so make an appointment to meet her once your application is approved, and come prepared to take her home with you when you leave. |
