This strikingly handsome teenage Doberboy (Ukrainian city name) came to us from a family that lost their apartment and had no way of keeping him under the circumstances.  Being a young, former apartment-dwelling Dober, he’s full of energy and can hardly contain himself in the new freedom of space and attention he enjoys here at Elijah’s House.

With everything being new to him at the moment, he is a little tentative at first and may even show the false bravado of hackles and a growl (good instincts), but once introduced is all over the person in his teenage eagerness to express his excited friendliness.  He loves interaction, and he loves toys - anything to engage him and provide a way for him to be involved.

This young fellow shows every indication of being an outstanding companion and representative of the breed as he matures under the guidance and training he deserves.

Volunteer comments:
“He is a ball of energy!  He barks excitedly in his eagerness to interact when a person comes close, and he can hardly contain himself when playing.  He absolutely loves to be around people and to be made of. Overall, he’s a very energetic, playful young Dober that enjoys people and is really a sweetheart.”

“Khust is a young Dober with a lot of energy.  In the absence of proper training, he jumps up a bit as he wants to sniff your face. However, the return on time and training investment will be much better than what the stock market can currently provide! Khust uses running to get his energy out of his system, and he is super fast! I was calling him Hopper the other day because he just bounces around in front of you trying to get you to chase him. He took a few minutes to get comfortable with me but once he turned on the trust "switch," it was like we had been best buddies for years.”

If you know Dobers at all, you can see past his unsurprising teenage behavior to the remarkable dog he will become as he is trained and matures.  If you can envision him in his adult state and are willing to put in the time and training needed to polish him, make an appointment to meet him once your application is approved, and come see for yourself what an outstanding fellow he is.  You won’t leave without him if you do.
