We may be approaching absolute perfection here!  Kosiv checks all the boxes both visually and personality-wise.  He’s strikingly handsome, solidly built, happy, friendly, and has a fun temperament.  The only thing remaining is for his training to be completed as he matures into adulthood.

He came to us from a family that had to move and couldn’t keep him at their new apartment.  And in keeping with our current focus on Ukraine, we‘ve named him in honor of one of their cities.

Being a teenager, he’s full of energy and eager to play and engage, so much so that if you turn away from him, he’s likely to jump up on your back as if to say,  “Hey, hey, I’m back here!”  At the same time, he walks nicely on leash.  (Keep in mind that jumping up is common for a young one and will come right into line as he receives a bit of training and continues to mature.  These dogs love to please, and he’s sure to come right into line once he understands your expectations.)  And inside, he’s settled and easygoing.  He loves attention, but he doesn’t act out (no chewing or destroying things).

Volunteer comments:
“Boy, how could you not fall for this handsome guy?  I know I sure did, and it didn’t take very long.  I took Kosiv for a long walk the other day, and he was just perfect the whole time.  He walked at my pace and never pulled. He would stop every once in a while to sniff as all dogs do, but he never got distracted or tried to go in another direction when something caught his attention.  I stopped every once in while and called him, and he eagerly came back to me and let me know he was enjoying our walk.”

"This guy has a solid build and average height.  He‘s a little shy but very sweet.  He approaches in a soft manner such that he doesn‘t overwhelm you.  He wants to be with his human and will wait at the gate until you return.  I couldn‘t get him excited over fetching the Jolly Ball, but he definitely wanted to play tug-o-war with the rope!   He needs a little training because he likes to jump up, but you can tell he wants to learn and to be a pleaser."

As indicated at the beginning of this profile, this may very well be a just-about-perfect Dober.  Don’t delay a moment in making an appointment to meet him once your application is approved.  I expect he‘ll be adopted “before the ink is dry,” so to speak.
