This seemingly sober-faced, noble-looking fellow actually does have an expectant and appreciative smile, and despite his sometimes serious expression, he is full of playfulness and goodwill. As with several of our recent arrivals, we named him after a Ukrainian city during this time of trouble.
He came to us from a family where he was loved and well cared for. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they found it necessary to move in with family. There was no place for the dog, so they did the responsible thing and saw that he came to DRT, where he’s being loved and doted on as he awaits a new home.
He lived with cats and kids and is well socialized. He’s calm and easygoing, has no issues with jumping, and walks well on a leash. He’s also strikingly handsome, and the relief vet asked Carol who the “Palomino stud” was that she had brought in. Clearly even a veterinarian was impressed by him.
Volunteer comments:
“So far, my time with Donetsk was limited to escorting him to one of the fields. I was taken by the way he carried himself and how friendly he was. He seemed more eager to have me play with him than he was in going exploring.”
“Donetsk is a BEAUTIFUL white male who is very friendly and well behaved. He is relaxed and comfortable in his own skin. He is a handsome fellow with regal bearing who represents the breed well. He likes to be around humans and loves attention, but he won‘t pester you to get it. He enjoys being outdoors with people and seems to think of himself as a helper, staying close by, always interested and engaged.”
This well-seasoned senior Dober will make a wonderful addition to a home where his family loves to interact with him and make him a part of whatever’s going on. If you think your family may be a match, make an appointment to meet him once your application is approved and come see for yourself what a lovely fellow he is. Chances are, you won’t be leaving without him, if you do. |
