This battered and over-bred young female came to us from a shelter, having been found as a stray.
From her appearance, it’s abundantly clear that she had been used as a baby factory. In addition, her coat needs attention, and she had intestinal worms (but thankfully, no heart worm). And after a few weeks at DRT, lounging on soft beds and eating quality food, her coat will be gleaming.
Despite what she has suffered to this point, she’s happy and confident. And you can see a dignity in her face and stance that belie her previous treatment and neglect. She has a sweet personality and is generally engaging. Once in a while she will bark at certain men, but then she warms up quickly. Volunteer comments: “Maize is a sweet girl. She tends to jump up a bit because she wants to be closer to you. But she’s also content to lie in a sunny spot where she can keep an eye for you. She’s a nice-tempered girl.”
This is clearly a lovely Dober who has been taken advantage of and neglected throughout her short life. Now she’s thriving in her new environment as she quietly awaits a new home, the likes of which she’s never experienced before.
If you think your family may be the one to give her love and friendship (and maybe to spoil her just a bit), make an appointment to meet her once your application is approved, and come see in person what a sweet girl she is. If you do (groaner alert), you’ll be amaized (too corny?). |
