Good with other male dogs.  Was jealous of older female in her former home.
Wants to chase the cat.
Good with older children.

This beautiful Doberpup came to us from a loving home where she and the long-term-resident, very-senior dog never came to a place where they fit well.  Being a pup, she’d plague the old dog endlessly, and while it's likely she would outgrow the behavior as she matured, her family decided it was time for her to be in a home where she wouldn’t wear out the patience and good will of their other, beloved dog.

That difficulty having been identified, she’s truly a lovely, sweet Doberkid. She’s very shy at first, but warms up quickly and then gives kisses.  She’s alert, eager, interested, and just a bit of a mischief seeker who is always watching for anything or anyone with which or whom to engage.

She has a good loyalty/protective instinct which will be an asset with guidance as she matures and gains wisdom and understanding.

Being an outgoing gal after her initial shyness, she doesn’t hesitate to take charge of the situation and will barge ahead of others in her zeal for attention, squeezing herself right between another dog and a person and sometimes posturing by putting her head over the other dog’s shoulder.  You can see her enthusiasm runs ahead of her good sense!  While she may outgrow this dominant behavior, it may be better for her to be in a home with either a submissive dog or no other dog at all.

All that being said, she’s still a kid, and time, training, consistent guidance, and nurture will make a significant difference to the good.  She’s a beauty and a lovely girl to know.

Volunteer comments:
“When I first met Brie in the corral she was a bit shy, but she quickly warmed up and started coming around and giving me gentle kisses.  Later, Carol brought out Rolo to see how they would interact.  No worries here.  Brie showed her interest in playing and was very tolerant and patient as Rolo started to warm up to her as well.  Brie appears to be very people and dog friendly.  This beautiful, charming, sweetheart of a Dobe won’t be around long.”

If you can see past her teenage missteps to the beautiful adult companion she will become, make an appointment to meet her and come see in person what a sweetie she is.

Brie may end up being more than just an appetizer, if you do.  :-)
