This energetic and enthusiastic young Dober came to us from a senior citizen lady who has seven dogs and four cats! Being young and untrained, she left him outside much of the time. When he was around the little dogs (chihuahuas), his size and energy level was overwhelming.
There’s no word on how she happened to have him in the first place, but just going from her story, I’m guessing she took him when someone else couldn’t keep him, and of course he’s more dog than she was prepared to handle, given her age and myriad other pets. The important thing is he’s with us now, and we’ll soon find a proper match for him.
Because of the lack of guidance, he’s still quite puppy-like in his behavior. He’s high energy, jumps up a bit, and with all the little male dogs inside the house and his having been kept outside most of the time, he did mark sometimes when he was allowed in. These behaviors are easily resolved with a bit of consistent training and shouldn’t count against him overall.
The fact is, he’s really a puppy in a grownup's body. He’s well-adjusted and sweet, and even the vet said he has a great personality; I think you can get a glimpse of it in the picture of him meeting Kevin. That’s a dog that’s just eager to love and be loved!
If you think this bundle of loving, energetic, raw material may be a match for your home, make an appointment to meet him once your application is approved, and come see for yourself what a love he is.
