When he was introduced to the cat, he play bowed and seemed very interested.  He would probably be good around a cat if supervised.
Good with other dogs.
Good with older children.

This young, handsome, eager fellow is just waiting for someone to engage with him and be the center of his attention.  Really still a pup yet in an adult-sized body, he’s full of good will and enthusiasm.  Being so young and lacking any particular training, he’s raw material.  But Dobers learn super fast, and with a proper home and training, he’ll quickly (and literally) come to heel.

He had been in the possession of someone who tied him out to a tree most of the time, only being let into the house (and then into a crate) if the weather was really bad.  Thankfully a neighbor who was wise to the situation talked with the owner and persuaded him to allow the neighbor to take the dog.  Having succeeded in his appeal, he then saw that the dog made it safely to Elijah’s House, where he happily resides as he awaits a proper home.

He lives to run and play with the other Dobers here, and he’s keen to get to anything that lives and breathes because he loves companionship and to be with another being.  In fact, in his short time with us so far, we've learned he'll clear the fence if he's left alone!  Of course, good boy that he is, he comes right back to the door to be let in; he just wants to be where his people are.  No surprises, I'd say, given that he spent his young life to this point, tied out.

Volunteer comments:
“Mask is a young, skinny male.  He is quite tall and has a ways to go yet to fill out his frame.  He’s very excited to meet new people, so socializing him won't be a problem.  He has a great personality, but don't let some of his goofy behavior fool you; he is SUPER athletic.  He is very fast and can jump like I've never seen.  When you play with him, he will leap into the air with all four feet off the ground, and you see him completely airborne.  Aside from his playful nature, he also wants your undivided attention like any Dobie.  He’s keen to be with and interact with humans and canines alike.”

"Mask is such a sweet guy! As I clean water buckets he will come up to plunge his head in the water! Does it repeatedly then comes and lays his head on your leg for some love. He just wants a loving person to appreciate what a great Dobe he is! Loves to run and play with a goofy grin for your loving attention!"

“Mask is a really sweet, athletic boy.  He has a lot of energy, but likes to be close and loved on.”

I get the impression this is some outstanding raw Dober material that will finish off into a terrific adult.  If you think your family is a match for this energetic young fellow, make an appointment to meet him once your application is approved.  And if you decide to make him a part of your family, be prepared to have an active, happy, loyal companion for many years to come.
