This handsome, middle-aged Doberboy has come back to us, along with his house mate Pippa, from a loving home where they’ve been for the past year and a half since leaving DRT.  Sadly, their human dad died, and their human mom is not able to keep them by herself.  It was a lovely and pleasant home, and they were very happy there; but as we all know, time passes and things change.  We’re just glad that we can once again have them with us as we look for a new match for each of them.  And even though they were together in their previous home, they are not bonded as some pairs are and are available individually.

Fauci is a carefree, happy fellow who loves to play with toys and other dogs, totally sociable.  His last home was next to a golf course and had a low fence.  On one occasion, a speeding golf cart was too much of a temptation and he hopped over the fence, ran after it, and began circling it and barking.  The occupants were totally lacking in humor and had no understanding of dogs, so upon seeing a Doberman circling their cart and barking at them (you wanna play chase?), they hollered and swung golf clubs at him and declared him to be a dangerous dog.  (if they only knew.)

He’s relaxed and friendly and just looking for a good time with anyone who will show him some attention and interact with him; he just soaks it up.  He knows to sit and stay on command, loves running in an open field, wants to play with other dogs, and loves squeaky toys.

Volunteer comments:
“Fauci is a VERY handsome male Dobie, tall and muscular.  He is confident and relaxed upon introduction.  He enjoys a good walk, and considers it a job as he remains on alert taking in all the sights and sounds.  He also knows how to walk on a leash.  He loves to be out front but eases off when the leash gets tight.  He is quick to do his business so he understands the purpose of a walk as well!   After taking him for a walk he happily gave me kisses to show his appreciation. With all his positive attributes, he pretty much checks every box on the ‘good dog’ list.”

"Fauci is easily in the top 10% of all the Dobes I’ve met at DRT.  He is the ‘complete package’ all rolled in to one.  Although his good looks will get your attention initially, it is his personality that will draw you to him.  He’s warm, gentle, and affectionate, and you’ll want him as soon as you meet him."

"Fauci is an absolute movie star Dober with Hollywood good looks!  Confident and still young at heart, he is up for any adventure.  He has a high level of energy and will benefit from regular play/exercise.  He‘s well mannered and didn‘t attempt to jump on me when introduced, even though I could tell he was very eager to say hello.  If I didn‘t already have a house full of dogs, Fauci would be at the top of my list!"

The short of it is this: he’s an outstanding fellow in every way and eager for a loving, interactive home where his humans spend time being engaged with him.  If you think your home and family may be the right fit for this wonderful fellow, make an appointment to meet him once your application is approved, and come meet him in person. You’ll be even more impressed than you are by his pictures, if you do. And I’m guessing whoever sees him first will take him home.
