Good with other dogs.
Interested in the cat at first, but then lost interest.
Good with older children.

This sweet, quiet, senior Dobergirl was found as a stray.  It’s obvious she had been bred (and we suspect used as a “breeder” and discarded after her useful breeding life).  Her teats indicate that she has done a lot of nursing, and she had benign mammary tumors (common in such instances) which were removed when we had her spayed.  So that’s all the “bad” news.

The good news is, she’s in good health, has a great personality, is good with other dogs, walks nicely on leash, and jumps effortlessly into and out of the SUV.  And as an added bonus, she’s really quite cute and doesn’t at all look her age!

In our experience, dogs such as this one (used as breeders) are often used as baby-making factories and haven’t had a lot of loving, personal attention and interaction.  They haven’t necessarily been ill treated; they’ve just been more of a commodity than a family member.

Once their breeding days are done and they come to us, they are typically gentle, happy, and grateful for the consistent care and affection we give them.  And when they go on to their new homes and families, they respond with a bit of wonder and joy at a life that they’d never experienced before.  It’s almost like a new birth for them, and they are blessed and a blessing, as a result.

Volunteer comments:
“When I see Pandi, I smile.  It seems nothing bothers her.  She is always happy, and her tail is always wagging.  Sometimes when she looks at you, she moves her head just slightly and one of her ears will stand as if she’s trying to determine what you’re saying.”

“Pandi is a a sweet love bug.  She’s a little timid at first but warms up very quickly.  She loves attention and loves to rest her head on your lap so you have to rub her head and ears.”

If you’d like to give a loving home and your personal love and care to this sweet Dobergirl, make an appointment to meet her once your application is approved, and come see for yourself what a sweetheart she is.  She’s wanted all her life to give her heart of love to her human.  If you choose to take her home, you’ll be the fortunate one.
