Waldo comes to us from a farm, where he had free reign and got along well with all the animals and children, both. Up until about a year of age, he’d been with an apartment dweller who kept him crated all day. Moving to the farm was pretty much nirvana for him, and he showed his appreciation by just being a happy, well-behaved dog all the time.

Unfortunately, divorce and a subsequent move resulted in no place for the Dober, so this super-friendly, super-affectionate fellow has come to us ad he awaits a new home where he can once more enjoy the love of family and new grounds to explore.

His coat is a bit thin at the moment, but proper food/supplements should see it filling in some before long.

He loves the Wonky Ball, a hard plastic ball about the size of a large grapefruit.  It makes "wonky" sounds when he pushes it with his paw.  He is absolutely fascinated with this toy and played with it for a straight thirty minutes while he was in Carol’s office.  She then gave it to him in his run and could hear him playing with it in there.  He’s also super friendly and affectionate, and everyone he meets is an instant friend.

Volunteer comments:
“Waldo is a beautiful boy who is incredibly social and happy-go-lucky. From the moment we met, he was affectionate and sweet and came up to greet me without the slightest reservation.”

"Waldo - A fawn colored male with good size and even better temperament.  Waldo is just a really nice dog.  Friendly and low maintenance...a perfect combination.  Waldo is another one that we currently have at DRT that isn't a huge barker.  The only time we heard from Waldo was when he saw us giving attention to some of the other dogs and then he would give a "what about me" bark!  His calm demeanor should make him adjust well to a new environment and most families.  With Waldo's good looks and great personality, come see him soon because he won't be around long!"

"Waldo is a real attention Hound.  He likes to be center of attention."

This is a well-adjusted, happy Dober, just waiting to go home with his new family. If you think yours might be the one, make an appointment to meet him once your application is approved, and come spend some time getting to know him. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed, if you do.
