Good with other dogs.
Good with children.

This wonderfully handsome and engaging fellow came to us from a kindhearted single mom of three.  She had taken him when a friend could no longer keep him, knowing it was a help to the dog and thinking it might be good to have a big dog around besides.

She truly cares very much for him, but she has come to realize it’s too much to try to care properly for him and her three children at the same time.  Initially she tried to place him herself but was put off by people who wanted to use him for stud rather than as a family pet (good for her!), so now he has come to Elijah’s House as he awaits placement with a loving family.

According to his former mom, he loves to play fetch and to play with balls and squeaky toys; likes to have a bath and nail trim; loves to ride in a vehicle; loves to run; was good with her kids; is good on a leash; and even knows a few tricks and commands.  All that and gorgeous to boot!

Unfortunately, he was heart-worm positive on intake, so we’re administering that very expensive treatment to see him clear from those invasive and life-robbing parasites.  (If you would like to have a part in his restoration, consider making a donation toward the heart worm treatment costs.  It’s a direct and substantive thing you can do for his well-being.)

Mama Carol says he “seems to be rather calm at the moment, though very engaging, and wants to run and play with the other Dobies.”

Volunteer comments:
“Robee is a handsome gem!  He rode perfectly in my pickup and was comfortable the whole way to Greensboro.  He got up a couple of times and gave me a kiss at a stoplight, but then he settled right back down when we started up again.  He’s alert and likes to be close, like most Dobies. He also kissed me and put his paw on my chest when I knelt down to pet him before I left.  So, yeah; he melts my heart and I love him already.  He’s just a gentle sweetheart who will make a great companion!”

This guy is a stunner!  He is full of personality and enjoys relaxing and being loved on as much as he loves to play!  He also walks very well on a leash and responds fabulously to simple commands. Truly a joy to be around!”

Don’t hesitate if you’re interested in this one.  He’s likely to find a home very quickly.  Just make an appointment to meet him once your application is approved.  No chance you’re going home without him if you do!
