This handsome and fit senior Doberboy came to us from an owner and home where he had lived since a pup.  The owner made the decision to move to a Caribbean island, and instead of filing the necessary paperwork and going through the process of moving the dog too, he was planning to turn him in to a shelter!  Thankfully the Rescue Angel this time was the man’s real estate agent who, upon hearing the story, offered to take the dog and get him to a Doberman rescue.  As I’ve said more than once, I can’t understand all I know, but I’m mighty grateful to a savvy, sympathetic realtor who saw a need and met it.  I’d sure do business with that realtor if I had the opportunity.

This fellow is totally sweet and gentle, significant size notwithstanding.  It’s comical when he sits and shakes – he looks like a big bear because his paws are so huge!  While his health and condition in general are very good for his age, he does need some dental work, and we’re promptly seeing to that, of course.

Volunteer comments:
“Hobo loves a good walk.  He gives a slight pull due to his excitement, but he’s definitely not out of control.  He’s very kind and seems to want to be around people more than the other dogs.  He’s just a big, sweet, lovable guy who will be a super, low-maintenance companion due to being laid back and knowing how to behave.”

"Hobo is a big, sweet boy who is clearly accustomed to being spoiled with air-conditioned comfort.  I volunteered on a hot day and he just wanted to lie inside on his bed and welcomed all of the love and attention he could get.  So cute!"

As you can tell, this is a large, lovely, agreeable Dober who is at peace, is content, and just wants a human with whom to share all the presence he has to offer.  If you think you may be the one to see him through his remaining years and sit and snuggle with him as he devotedly rests by your side, make an appointment to meet him once your application is approved, and come see for yourself what a treasure he is.
