Once in an extremely rare while, one of the homes we have vetted and into which we have placed a Dober turns out not to be a good match for the dog, and the dog comes back to us.  Franchese is such a one, having been in her adoptive home since June.  In communicating with the adopter, it’s clear there was not a good fit between them, and we’re glad she has come back to us as we confidently look for a match that will indeed be permanent.

Having reassessed her since her arrival back Elijah’s House, we note that despite having lost nearly fifteen pounds since we placed her, she's still very strong and needs some consistent work with training on leash, lunging at other dogs, and overall manners.   She also came back to us with a bacterial skin infection for which she is now on antibiotics and which should be cleared up very quickly.

Her original profile is included below, along with a couple new comments from our volunteers. Read it through, check out her pictures, and see if she may be a match for you.

___________________________________

This remarkably beautiful young Dobergirl came to us from a residence where she had been bought to be used as breeding stock and where, along with another Dober, she was kept in the back yard. Before she was bred, the owner died and the wife advertised her as being available "to the first person who gets here!"  Just sayin’.

Thankfully, she is now with us at Elijah’s House and spayed, so her future will be very much brighter than it would have been.

She is a beautiful, dark slate blue color with a very nice coat, although when we picked her up, we initially thought she was red due to all the dirt on her coat!

Not surprisingly, she loves all people! It’s a Doberman thing and especially so once they find people who love and care about them.

She's been started on a leash, but being young and energetic, she’s strong and pulls.  A little more work should bring her along with that.   Of course, she also jumps into an SUV without any problem and enjoys the ride.

Volunteer comments:
“Franchese is a bounding bundle of love. She is a very exuberant young girl who just loves to be close to you. Her happy face and quick kisses are hard to resist!

“She will pull you on a leash but once you let go it’s a different story - she won’t let you out of her sight and comes when called.”

"This little girl is is full of energy and likes to play. She needs some leash training and wants to pull ahead of a walking pace. I guess just couldn't move fast enough for her. If I had to describe her personality, it's like watching a fireworks display - lots of oohs and ahhs, and colorful explosions that make you smile. She'd be a great jogging or biking partner to help burn off all that energy."

“She’s a little rocket that LOVES to run and chase, and is SO fast! She has a very playful attitude and a non-stop motor. There’s still a lot of puppy in this girl, and she needs a little training as she can get a little mouthy when over stimulated. She is a perfect fit for a family with an active lifestyle, and her personality will make you want to take her with you wherever you go.”

"I love Franchese. She has a lot of energy when outside but will calm down and snuggle with you inside."

"Franchese is beautiful and full of confidence. She was pretty good for her bath when I bathed her a couple of weeks ago too. She enjoyed climbing onto and off of the patio table too. Haha!"

"This little girl is delightful friendly and very fun loving! She loves to be out with us when we work!"

The short of it is, this is just a beautiful teenage Dobergirl who is ready for a loving home that can provide the care and attention needed to guide her into adulthood. If you think your home may be the one, make an appointment to meet her once your application is approved, and come spend a little time interacting with her. I'm confident you'll find her to be a bundle of energy and playful good will.
