This handsome young fellow was found as a stray and thereby came to Elijah’s House.

While we have no way of knowing anything about his past, we can see right off that he is intelligent, interested, playful, energetic, confident, loving, and well-adjusted. In other words, a typical Doberman. There’s nothing about him to suggest anything negative in his past, and it’s always a mystery how such a dog ends up wandering the streets.

He is a friendly fellow who doesn’t hesitate to meet new people and was very good at the vet. He’s no friend to cats, however, and will bark at little dogs, but he gets along well with our other dogs in general. He rode well during transport to the vet and DRT, so no issues there. And he likes children.

This simply seems to be a very good dog all the way around who simply needs a new, loving home.

Here are some comments from our volunteers:
“Newnan (aka Newman, as in Paul N.) is one of those rare dogs who has it all - looks, charm, personality, and charisma all balled into one. He has this infectious personality that just draws you to him. All the Dobies that come to DRT are special, but this beautiful boy is in the top ten percent!”

“Two words: energy and love. This handsome boy has lots of both to give.”

“Newnan is the typical adolescent male, high energy, loves to play, seeks attention wants to play and be with people, a little hard headed and untrained like the popular jock at school.”

"Newnan is a real beauty and such a good age to train. He’s smart and good-natured and ready to learn!

"I only saw Newman for a few minutes in his run inside, and he was whining for some attention, so he seems like he will enjoy all the attention and love he can get.  Just like most of the Doberboys.  Ha!"

If a young, handsome Doberboy is on your list of must-haves, make an appointment to meet him after your application is approved, and come see for yourself what a terrific fellow he is. But don’t be so naive as to think you’ll be able to meet him and go home without him. He’s way too fabulous to leave behind.
