While it’s not unusual to see a Dober with natural ears, we seldom see one with tail intact.  This beautiful Dobergirl arrived as a stray at a home and decided to stay there.  The residents lovingly cared for her while posting flyers and checking around the neighborhood to find her owner.  There was no response to the fliers and they could find no one who knew anything about her, so after a few weeks they had to surrender her to Doberman Rescue to help her find a new home.  No way of knowing, but this sounds like a drop to me.  The dog’s in good health and doesn’t appear abused or neglected.  Someone for some reason must have dropped her where she was near houses, and she went to one and sought help.

She’s clean, healthy, has a good coat, and seems right at home and relaxed with us.  It’s always a mystery, but at least she’s in the right place to find a new, proper home, and we’re sure glad for that!

She’s already a hit with our volunteers.  Here are a few of their observations:

“Teal is an energetic and vibrant girl.  She is so happy to see you, her whole body wags.  Sometimes she’s so excited to be out walking in the field, she’ll crash into you and do that Doberman mouthy thing in her joy and zeal for attention.”

“She’s my new favorite - comes to her name, doesn’t let you out of her sight, likes the jolly ball, and likes standing in the water buckets.  She’s just full of energy and love!”

“Teal is so sweet and full of contagious energy!  She loves to play and run after the jolly ball, and she also enjoys frolicking in the water!  She responds very well to her name, and truly enjoys companionship with her people!  With a little work on her leash skills, this gal is just perfection!”

"Teal is a charming, joyful creature.  She seems to exude happiness and wants to share it with you.  It was impossible for me to look at her without smiling."

Based on her excellent condition and disposition, it seems to me as though this dog came from a good home where something changed suddenly, resulting in her being dumped.  This happened with one of my former Dobers.  He and his female Dober companion had come from a loving home until a new husband moved in.  He didn’t like them and promptly took them away and dumped them.  They found their way home and he dumped them again.  (I wonder how that marriage worked out.)

Anyway, this is a perfectly lovely Dobergirl who’s ready to be back in a good home, so if the natural look appeals to you, make an appointment to meet her once your application is approved, and come see for yourself what a great gal she is.
