Dezi and Lucy are pups of Sandeman and Breckenridge, two adults currently at Elijah’s House. Both are significantly underweight, but apart from that they are in good health, and Carol is already making strides in putting weight on them. Good Italian Dobermom that she is, she hates to see a dog underweight and of course is very skilled at bringing them along: “Mangia, cuccioli, mangia.”
These sober-faced pups are still growing into their ears and are a bit off balance in light of their past and the recent changes. But regular interaction with our loving volunteers is bound to start them on the path to maturing into wonderful companions as they bond with loving families. Carol says: "They are under-socialized and need nurturing to warm up to folks; however, they do so quickly for treats and will be kissing your face in minutes!"
Each is available individually, and each is ready for a family that will provide a forever home.
Observations from our volunteers: “Dezi is a handsome boy, although he is very underweight Mama Carol will see that is changed. He‘s still getting used to his new surroundings, so he is shy at first. If approached slowly, he will warm up to you and reward you with a few kisses. He just needs some time and friendly, slow approaches. Once given a chance, he is a clean slate ready to be your BFF.”
“When I first saw Lucy, I thought what a beautiful, petite Dobergirl she is, and her temperament is as beautiful as her appearance. She‘s a quiet girl and still shy, but after some good meals and attention, she will blossom. She‘s ready for someone to spend time with her and a clean slate to teach a beautiful girl all the good things in life.”
"Other than color, both of these young pups are quite similar. I guess this makes sense since they’re litter mates. They’re unaccustomed to being around people and are shy at this point. Neither of these pups showed any reaction when I took them individually into the corral, other than backing up as I slowly approached them in their outside runs. Of the two, I’d say Dezi was ever so slightly more at ease with me." Time and nurture is sure to make the difference for them."
Again, each is available separately, or if you choose, they of course can be adopted together. Choose one or choose both; just show up and choose! (After the usual sequence of apply, approval, appointment, of course.)
Happiness awaits; why delay?
