HOTCH

Grateful - grateful is what comes to mind when I look at this lovely boy.  Just take a minute and look those pictures over again if you missed it the first time.  Look at that face, that stance.  This is one boy who is extremely grateful to be getting loving attention and care; everything about him says so.

As it happens, he has good reason to be grateful now that he has come to us.  He had been abandoned and tied to a tree by the humans who had formerly been responsible for him (can't bring myself to call them his family).  Thankfully the neighbors were feeding him, the connection was made with DRT, and he came to Elijah's House, for which he is a very grateful, thankful Doberboy.  This being the Thanksgiving season, I guess that's especially appropriate.

This lovely boy is starved for attention, no doubt due to the despicable treatment he received before coming to us.  He is very affectionate and loves to be petted.  He does both sitting and standing versions of the Doberman lean, an endearing habit that many of this breed exhibit in their desire to be close to their humans, and he comes when called.  Indeed, this handsome young fellow seems to want to make sure that no one overlooks his love and commitment, perhaps thinking that somehow the people in his former residence didn't realize it and abandoned him as a result, as though somehow it had been his mistake and he was trying to make sure it didn't happen again.  It makes me just want to hold him and never let go.

His coat is beautiful and he gets along well with the other dogs.  He's so glad to be free from the chain that bound him, that for the time being at least he keeps moving around with a big grin on his face, exploring, seemingly at the sheer joy of having the freedom of movement.

This is as lovely a boy as you could want to know, and I'm confident that he'll make a terrific companion for the family who is fortunate enough to make him part of their home.

So make an appointment to come by and meet him.  If you love the breed at all, if your interest is in the least genuine, if you have love to give and are eager to comfort a gentle soul, you are sure to be won over by this sweet child immediately and determine to take him home.
