AND THEN THERE WERE TWO (Newest Profile) BOWE & SPIFFY (Brother & Sister)
Those of you who watch our site will recall the recent “Three’s Company” posting. It took its title from the old TV sitcom of the same name and was about three Doberkids who came to us together. Now the third member of this former trio has recently been adopted, and these two lovely siblings, Bowe and Spiffy, remain. They come from a home where their beloved human had to move into assisted living due to health complications. They both are very well-behaved and well-mannered Doberkids who are very closely bonded with one another, and as such, it’s our goal for them to be adopted together
Bowe is the black, natural-eared male and a brother (different litter but same parents) to Spiffy. His temperament is laid-back couch potato - a very easy-going personality. As you can see from the pictures, he has a minor skin thing going on at the moment, but it is being treated and is responding well, so no worries there.
Spiffy is the female and the unquestioned leader of the two. But while she takes charge of her brother, she has no question that the humans are still the top authority and as a result she is also very obedient. In addition to taking charge of Bowe, she loves nothing better than to climb into bed with her human, so don't be surprised if you take her home and she starts crowding you for bed space. (C'mon; it's probably been years since you cuddled.) :-)
The short of it is that these are just about as nice a couple of Doberkids as you could want to know.
Times are hard, and not everyone can act on the desire to take two dogs at once, but we’ve seen it happen over and over again, nonetheless. So fill out an application and make an appointment to come by and meet them. Watch them play and interact. Think about what it must be like for them to have lost their beloved human, and think about taking them home with you and giving them a new forever home where they can continue to enjoy each other's company even as they bond with you.
The old saying, "two's company," will become more meaningful than ever once you see them in action, and numbers notwithstanding, they're sure to be the loves of your heart if you are fortunate enough to be able to make them a part of your family.
THREE'S COMPANY (Old Profile) Some of you will recall the sitcom of the same name from the late '70's (can it really have been that long ago?) in which a young man and two young women shared an apartment. The short of it is that the women made the man mind and, despite their various predicaments, they were best of friends and had a wonderful time together.
Here are three Doberkids from the same family, two of whom are siblings. They have been together since pups, and come from a home where their beloved human is having to move into assisted living due to health complications. While the ratio is reversed, like the characters in the sitcom, the female of this threesome also makes the males mind. They follow her around and do as she says. (Oh, the power you women have, if you only realized it.) :-)
All three are very well-behaved and well-mannered Doberkids who are very closely bonded with one another and who embody the motto of another famous threesome, the Three Musketeers - "All for one, and one for all."
Bowe is the black, natural-earred male and a litter mate to Spiffy. His temperament is laid-back couch potato - a very easy-going personality. As you can see from the pictures, he has a minor skin thing going on at the moment, but it is being treated and is responding well, so no worries there.
Rex is the red, cropped male. His gentle disposition makes him perhaps slightly hesitant at the initial meeting, but he warms up almost immediately and then will proudly take you by the wrist (gently, of course) and walk you around as a much-loved and esteemed friend. He is a very obedient and agreeable boy.
Spiffy is the female and the unquestioned leader of the gang. But while she takes charge with them, she has no question that the humans are still the top authority and as a result she is also very obedient.
The short of it is that these are just about as nice a bunch of Doberkids as you could want to know.
Having been together from birth, it would be nice to see them adopted together. We realize that's a tall order in these times, so if you have any questions or ideas, talk with Carol. Obviously the end goal is to find a home or homes for them that will provide the best possible solution under the circumstances.
In any case, make an appointment to come by and meet them. Watch them play and interact. Think about what it must be like for them to have lost their beloved human, and think about taking them home with you and giving them a new forever home where they can continue to enjoy each other's company even as they bond with you.
The old saying, "Two's company; three's a crowd" will lose all meaning once you see them in action, and numbers notwithstanding, they're sure to be the loves of your heart if you are fortunate enough to be able to make them a part of your family.
